PONY RYDER: Honestly, you are booking great jobs… Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Vogue, Numero… In what way are magazine castings different than the ones for a show?
CATO VAN EE: I guess every type of casting is different because for a magazine or show you would want a different look. It also depends how many girls they are booking and if they fit together well.
CATO VAN EE: It is very different. I enjoyed shooting the commercial very much because it was a challenge. Photos are different because between every frame you can stop but during film you have to keep on going, but it was very cool! Although my legs were dead the next day, I literally ran 500 times back and forth over the airport!
It was so much fun to do a film instead of picture but something you have to get used too…you actually have to do acting instead of modeling. I cannot compare the two but love it both!
PONY RYDER: You did D & G ad with group of models, 3 times, if I may ad!!! So speaking about other models; who are your friends in fashion?
CATO VAN EE: Most of my friends are other Dutch models like Cicely Telman, Anouk Hagemeijer, Bette Franke, Doutzen Kroes and Anna de Rijk.
PONY RYDER: From all of them, who would you say has the best style?CATO VAN EE: Cicely Telman, maybe because she is my best friend but she always looks super-sexy and cool.
CATO VAN EE: Dutch models seem to be down to earth. They know that being a model isn’t the most important thing in life, which gives them a chill attitude that is attracting a lot of people.
