THANA KUHNEN: Since I was a child, everyone has asked and commented about my long legs and as I was growing, people talked more, more and more!! Friends, family, people on the street, beach, school, supermarket… everywhere… all different kind of people of different ages.. came to me to complain, asking the same things! All with the same horizon.. “You need to be a model”
I really dedicate my life to my career!
THANA KUHNEN: All kinds of problems, haha I did not know anything at all..
THANA KUHNEN: The first step was from Marilyn-NY … but in the end we decided all together…that it was really hard to me, I can say it was one of the biggest sacrifices I made for my career.
PONY RYDER: Is it easier to maintain shorter or longer hair?
THANA KUHNEN: I learned over the time how to play with my short hair.. I learned to like, I love hats, strips, little ponytails on top of my head…My only requirement was to keep hair in front of my face, not to go so short.. it is very important for me to feel feminine. I don’t have a favorite brand, I try to change enough so that my hair does not get used to one type of product!
PONY RYDER: I think it was surprise for everyone when you walked out first at the Christian Dior show. When did you found out about the opening spot?
THANA KUHNEN: I started my career in Paris with Dior, I worked with Galliano and the entire team of Dior approximately 2 months before the show, every day.. that collection was all done on my body…I could not imagine that I would open the show, I found out at Dior, the night before the show!
x
THANA KUHNEN: It was a mixture of happiness, surprise, responsibility and a feeling of tension! I was just beginning!
THANA KUHNEN: I really love both, but I have a special feeling with haute couture, that I can’t explain, I believe I have that inside of me, this “acting” that naturally comes all over me, during a couture show!
PONY RYDER: First show and you already had a “complicated runway” – the stairs. Going down the stairs at the Dior show, and posing… You seemed so confident and full of authority! It seems that it was more about acting then modeling.
THANA KUHNEN: I understand, but that does not scare me, I had so much support from all that team, and I know I was there because someone up on top of that stairs had trust in me, waiting for the best result!
PONY RYDER: What do you like best about Brazil ?THANA KUHNEN: First what I like the most is the energy of the Brazilian people… You can have fun in every single place in Brazil!!
THANA KUHNEN: I use La Roche Posay for face, I use Banana Boat oil when I want to get a tan, and L’Oreal for sun block!
THANA KUHNEN: We have many talented designers in Brazil, I cannot name only one!
PONY RYDER: We know, we know… But where do you shop most often there?
THANA KUHNEN: I love Alexandre Herchovitch, he has this cool style, those structured pieces which I find very interesting… and my closet is full of Osklen pieces..he has everything from beachwear with a really cool style to the nicest leather jackets and the sexiest dresses.. he can dress you up in all occasions.
PONY RYDER: How do you spend your time during long flights..
THANA KUHNEN: I fall asleep even before the plane lifts off…hahah
PONY RYDER: You travel a lot so… Which airline is your favorite?
THANA KUHNEN: I really don’t care about that, I can’t see much difference between one and another.
PONY RYDER: When you are in Europe or USA …is there any food or product that you miss, because it can be bought only in Brazil ?
THANA KUHNEN: Sure, but I do not have anything in mind right now!
PONY RYDER: What brand of skincare you use?
THANA KUHNEN: I use different brands, but what I cannot be without is the Midnight secret from Guerlain.
PONY RYDER: What is inside your make up bag?
THANA KUHNEN: Normally I do not really use makeup … I take special care of my eyebrows. What I got with me in my kit is a Givenchy mascara and a Dior skin Nude Glow that I’m using at the moment…and a lip balm of course that is always in our pocket! 🙂
THANA KUHNEN: I walk a lot, which I like..Gym (soooome times) and body combat class!
PONY RYDER: For the end… Thana can you recommend us some music by some of Brazilian musicians as well as a Brazilian films that we should watch.
THANA KUHNEN: I love it…I spend all my days listening to music somehow! I have a passion for music….Brazil has many many styles and types of songs…and I love it all…but one of my favorite ever is Cassia Eller. Movie? Cidade de Deus. 😉
