Andrei Andrei is with NEXT NY&LA, MP London, Trend Barcelona, VN Greece, MC2 Miami, Future Milano.

PONY RYDER: Andrei Andrei. Is it real or is it your art name?

ANDREI ANDREI: Yes, Andrei Andrei is my real name and I think that my parents thought it’s a cool name and I agree with them, it’s easy to remember…and, of course, I’ve heard all the jokes related to that.

PONY RYDER: LOL. Andrei, how come you started modeling?

ANDREI ANDREI: First I started on a very low level in my home town with a local agency. My friends were pushing me to go and I finally did …after that we went to fashion week, we had an exclusive show for an underwear brand and an agent from Bucharest saw me there and took me under his wing …and did my first professional test shooting, sent me to Thailand and from there I started the international work.

PONY RYDER: And what were you like as a kid?

ANDREI ANDREI: I don’t think I was popular, geeky for sure. I used to study a lot and went on Olympics and stuff….

I didn’t find the use of sport either. During the last years of high school, when I find out that girls are attractive I started to work on my appearance more and did football for about a year and started working out.

PONY RYDER: We can’t believe you were a “fat kid”. Are you sure?!?

ANDREI ANDREI: Yeah, I was 🙂 And everybody in my classroom at school was making fun of it, and that annoyed me a lot. I started working out because I had friends that went to the gym and they were looking awesome. And I knew I could look better than anyone I know.

PONY RYDER: How do you feel about doing nude photoshoots?

ANDREI ANDREI: I don’t mind doing nude as long as the photographer is good and knows what he is doing.

My trick is getting in the role that the whole concept is build on and you have to know your body, study it, your angles… you don’t wanna stay in a position that disadvantages you. My preparation started when I first stepped foot into the gym so I don’t really do anything before the shooting.

PONY RYDER: Which gym is your favorite?

ANDREI ANDREI: California Fitness as I remember was really nice in Singapore.

PONY RYDER: Tell us about your workout routine.

ANDREI ANDREI: I started going to the gym when I was 16 and it was hard work until the muscles developed and I had 15 kg more than I have now with minimum body fat.

I started loosing weight for modeling because I couldn’t fit into the clothes and it was that period when skinny models were making all the big campaigns. Now I’m just working out at home and maintain my body, especially with a proper diet and some cardio outside, like running or skipping rope and exercises in the house …I do that almost every day.

PONY RYDER: How much (kg) do you lift on the bench?

ANDREI ANDREI: In my good days I was lifting 110 kg on the bench, now I could do maybe 80-90 I haven’t tried it in a long time. So I’m not sure 🙂

PONY RYDER: How long does your training last?

ANDREI ANDREI: About one hour normally, or I can do like 20 minutes 3 times per day.

PONY RYDER: Do you have to maintain definition all year long, or do you have a period when you just work on your muscle mass?

ANDREI ANDREI: Yes, I stay in the best shape all year long …My goal is not to gain mass , it is to have the perfect body.

There is no point in gaining fat and mass and then to rip it for the one month of summer like most of the people I see. My point is that you can gain mass and look in shape all the time.

PONY RYDER: Do you also do a lot of cardio?

ANDREI ANDREI: Every cardio exercise is good for your body… I don’t have a routine, it all depends on where I am and the weather outside. Like when it’s cold or raining I usually skip rope at home.. and if the weather is good, I go outside and run.

PONY RYDER: Do you do a lot of exercises for legs and butt?

ANDREI ANDREI: Not really, the running and the bicycle and the rope skipping work these muscles and not only these.

PONY RYDER: You know I ask this because I just found out that you have an insurance policy for your “butt” ? Why…

ANDREI ANDREI: It expired last year. I had a butt insurance worth 5000 euros when I won the contest for the perfect ass in the world. I mean, I wouldn’t insure my ass on my own for sure, especially because there is not much that can happen to it.

PONY RYDER: Let’s repeat. When you first started going to a gym your goal wasn’t to lose weight?
ANDREI ANDREI: NO
x
PONY RYDER: It’s about keeping the shape you have?
x
ANDREI ANDREI: YES
x
PONY RYDER: So what does an individual who goes to the gym have to eat to look like you?
x
ANDREI ANDREI: I guess it’s all about when to begin and when to stop. You can play with the shape of your body in whatever way you want. You just need to have a little discipline.

PONY RYDER: Do you avoid carbs?

ANDREI ANDREI: There are 2 types of carbs – the good ones that give you energy for a longer period of time and the bad ones.

PONY RYDER: What do you eat for breakfast?

ANDREI ANDREI: Usually I eat cereals (all grain). Avoid cereals that say “fitness” or other bullshit … read the label.

PONY RYDER: What other type of food do you avoid?

ANDREI ANDREI: Fried, fast food, whole meals, butter, high fat products, cookies and sweets, but not entirely.

I don’t live to enjoy the food that I’m eating, so I try to eat because I need to, not for pleasure.

PONY RYDER: Name 3 things that can seduce you?

ANDREI ANDREI: Smell, Attention, Shape

PONY RYDER: What do you think what are your strongest features…

ANDREI ANDREI: I think sexiness.

PONY RYDER: I’m sure everyone wants to know… Are you taken at the moment?

ANDREI ANDREI: NO
